I’ve done some testing with this set, and they all seem to work on the OS X app and browser version of twitter and Facebook, but many of them are not rendered well on the mobile apps. Here is a list of fonts that seem to work well across all platforms and apps:
For Twitter:
- Fullwidth
- ⒫⒜⒭⒠⒩⒯⒣⒠⒮⒤⒵⒠⒟
- ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴩꜱ ᴩꜱᴇᴜᴅᴏᴀʟᴩʜᴀʙᴇᴛ
For Facebook:
- Fullwidth
- ⒫⒜⒭⒠⒩⒯⒣⒠⒮⒤⒵⒠⒟
- ⓒⓘⓡⓒⓛⓔⓓ (lower case text only)
Another useful character set are unicode symbols. For tweets, they can be used to save precious characters while conveying a lot of information (↑↓½★≈≠°♂♬☕☢⚡?☤?). Here is a great place to look at many of the most useful ones. As always, you should use a test twitter account to make sure your symbol will fly before putting it into production.
